Magic City Books
November 10, 2020
Magic City Books is honored to host the virtual launch party for Geneva Phillips and her new book, Disappearing in Glimpses. Geneva is part of the Poetic Justice program and is currently incarcerated at Eddie Warrior Correctional Facility. Joining us to discuss Geneva’s book will be Ellen Stackable, co-founder and Executive Director of Poetic Justice and Rilla Askew, three time Oklahoma Book Award winner and author of Fire in Beulah and Most American. Poetic Justice classes empower women to change as they engage in self-reflective, therapeutic writing. By using poetry, women who have never written in their lives find the confidence to write from their hearts. The voiceless one finds her voice and with that comes healing, hope, and the power to change. Since it began, over 3,000 incarcerated women have been a part of the Poetic Justice classes. This free event will be hosted on the Zoom platform and streamed live on Facebook. To register in advance for the Zoom event please visit: https://magiccitybooks.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_w2IKHPELSS-f80luPfILbg.
